The Walkbase Summit: What to expect

Katerina Bukhvostova

With the Walkbase Summit just around the corner, I decided to shed some more light on what June 9th, 2016 will bring for our guests.

Before diving into practicalities, let me say how excited we are to be hosting this amazing event and honoured to be one of the leading parties in pushing brick and mortar retail towards incorporating a data-driven approach in their store operations.

We have received significant interest in the Summit from our retail customers and partners, so much we may be bursting out the venue! This is a massive breakthrough, and whilst many retailers are still lagging behind in the adoption of in-store analytics, most of the top players in the field are beginning the journey of discovery into the power of in store data and are constantly developing new ways of applying it.

Why the Walkbase Summit is the place to be?

We have been very lucky to have our partners Samsung, Fab Lab London and RotaGeek, contributing to the Walkbase Summit’s content, venue and catering to create the best possible experience. In addition, we've put together a brilliant program of speakers, workshops and panelists.

Not only do we aim to bring you up-to-date with the latest techniques in in-store analytics and retail management, go through the most relevant use-cases and analyses, but also encourage you to participate in panel discussions amongst your peers, and have a chance to network with other industry experts and professionals throughout the day.

On top of that, you’ll get to meet the brilliant Miya Knights, Global Technology Research Director at Planet Retail, who will be delivering a keynote speech on the future in-store shopping experience. Miya has over 15 years' experience as an analyst, journalist and editor specialising in enterprise technology use in retail. She has spent this time reporting on the demands and challenges faced by retailers and which technologies can best support their needs in addressing ever-more complex consumer expectations and behaviours.

Following the keynote presentations, we will reserve some time for a panel discussion featuring the bright minds in omnichannel retail, including but not limited to Kash Ghedia, Head of Technology at Dixons CarphoneDave Abbott, Retail Omnichannel Manager at Dune, and Neal Matheson, Head of Store Product and Analytics at Tesco PLC.

We are very excited to be hosting the Summit for the first time and are surprised as well as delighted to announce that we are well above our registration targets. In fact, we are just a few seats away from overbooking. This is a clear indicator that this is not going to be the last Walkbase Summit, rather THE in-store analytics conference that retailers will be regularly returning to in the future to learn more about the direction in-store analytics is taking in order to help brick and mortar shopping stay at the forefront of consumers’ minds.

This year, the conference will have no registration fees. To learn more about the event or receive a personal invitation, please contact us.
