Walkbase goes IN TOUCH with Wincor Nixdorf

On a cold February day, Wincor Nixdorf invited Walkbase to the amazing Mercedes-Benz World (Weybridge, UK) for its IN TOUCH customer event. Walkbase were joined by Wincor’s other innovation partners, Samsung, Mobify, Zebra, Qudini and Intel

Wincor Nixdorf’s invited forty of its top Retail and Banking customers to hear a series of talks from Retail Week, Waitrose, Planet Retail, Zebra and Wincor themselves. Many of the speeches centred around how the Retail environment could use the connected environment of today to maximise in-store conversion, improve store earnings and optimise the customer experience. 

Boosting store sales with Wi-Fi enabled proximity marketing

Particularly interesting was Planet Retail’s talk on the Tsunami of Wi-Fi. Zebra found that 40% of customers will use the in-store Wi-Fi to browse products online while shopping and 50% of them will search for coupons and promotions while they shop. This talk clearly illustrated the need for customers to receive coupons and promotions directly to their phones, the moment they walk into a store, something Walkbase has been doing for its customers for some time. 

Following the sessions, lucky Wincor Nixdorf customers spent the afternoon driving Mercedes sports cars around the purpose built track and on the skid pan. A fantastic day for customers and an excellent event for Walkbase and its new partner Wincor Nixdorf.
